In the Local search on mobile app, you may have noticed an issue in the search history for local searches.

We will explain what is happening so you are a where of this issue. Most importantly we are fixing the issue as we speak.

There are two primary issues with the search keyword history and we will go over both.

LOCAL SEARCH HISTORY ISSUE #1

When you select the “Categories” this will allow you to get instant results for popular local searches. For example you can select “Coffee & Tea” and it will give all the nearest results related to Coffee and Tea.

lb1

After selecting the preferred Local search category, you will get the results displayed starting with the closest business to your detected area.

lb2

You can then select any of the displayed business to get the business information details, such as ratings, reviews, location, phone number, website, menu, reservations, etc. So if you select the business information page, it would look like this:

lb3

The issue that occurs is when you then click the < back arrow to go back to the original results page. It is clearing the selected local search category from search history, as shown here:

lb4

Obviously this should take you back to your original search. This only is an issue if you have selected from the local “Categories” option.

LOCAL SEARCH HISTORY ISSUE #2

This next bug with local search is also a search history issue. Here is what is happening,

You type your own search keyword in the search box and click “Search” and you will get the related local results that pertain to your keyword. You have an option to click the “Map” to view results in a map view.

lb5

After you click the Map view, you will get your local results displayed on map. If you want to move the map around to change results per you map movement, you will check off the box labeled “Update on Map Move” and this will change the results to selected area

lb6

After you have moved the map to a selected area, then select to view business information page, you would click on the business map pin icon, then click the business title. This will then take you to the business information page as shown here:

lb7

As mentioned this is where you can get all the details in regards to selected local business. You can then click the < Back arrow to go back to the original results page:

lb8

The bug is that it will take you to your original starting point in search before moving the map and not to the search point you were at before visiting the local business information page.
